Ooookay – it’s to do with a common teaching resource often maligned by ALTs but rather favoured by JH teachers

ummmm…..new horizon something-or-other?
kat - 16 11 05 - 00:19
keine Ahnung!
roast beef/ woolwich…..eh?
kate - 16 11 05 - 05:37
Um, bells?
Big Ben is a bell. Drinking tea before roast beef could be high tea, so you use a bell to call the waitress. And teh number 42 is a bus which has a bell which u use to tell the driver to stop.

Haha! Good work everyone. I like Martin’s answer the best so far, so he’s on course for the prize at the moment. You’ve got until Friday, and then I’ll post the answer.
Nick - 17 11 05 - 00:02
What, might one enquire, is the singificance of that particular bus? Or are we talking generically about those old skool red buses here? Ist mir eigentlich wurscht, bin aber trotzdem neugierig… ![]()
Chris (Email) - 18 11 05 - 12:29

The answer is that they are all to be found in chapter 5 of the Total English text books. Martin wins the prize for best answer. A bonus question for those who aren’t rolling their eyes and groaning at the anality of the question: Can you name the tube station pictured overleaf?
