Today, I had easily my favourite lesson so far. Is anyone currently watching time commanders on BBC? Well, basically I had a go at recreating that. It was nice to make a special effort as this was the last lesson I'd have with my 6th graders before they go off to Junior High next term. It went really well - the kids took command of a small Roman army, whose job it was to crush a rebel Briton (yay!) force in open countryside. I made them a map and some pieces so they could make their plan, and then we had the battle proper on the huge projector, plugged into my laptop. It was great fun and they really enjoyed it - more lessons should be like this! |
